After the spectacular performance of its team at the World Cup, Morocco hosts the FIFA Club World Cup in Tangier. The Mondialito, aka FIFA Club World Cup 2022, kicked off at the Grand Stade of Tangier on February 1, 2023.

The organizers began this ceremony with images of Ibn Battouta, the explorer who traveled the world and who is of Tangier origin. Then place was given to the different facets of cultural diversity of Morocco starting with Taktouka Al Jabalia through Abidat R’ma, Dakka Marrakchia, Houara, Gbaoua and the different folklore of different regions of Morocco. In passing, songs and images made us relive the feat of the Atlas Lions in Qatar.
Thereafter, Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan team having achieved an unparalleled performance in the last World Cup in Qatar, took the microphone on stage to communicate with the audience estimated at 50,000 people. At the same time, a tribute was paid to the legend of world soccer, Pele.


Finally, the presentation to the public of the seven Clubs represented in this Mondialito. All these images, which demonstrated the richness and diversity of an ancestral country, took some twenty minutes.
For the first match of this competition organized until February 11, the Egyptian Al Ahly will face the New Zealanders of Auckland City. In total, seven teams will thrill soccer fans. On the bill, the Wydad, African champion and Moroccan champion then coached by the current coach of the Atlas Lions, Walid Regragui, but also Real Madrid (Spain), Flamengo (Brazil), Seattle Sounders (USA) and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia).
